Oh yes, it's true I feel  today so homesick
and nobody could understand me.
My house stands everywhere at world
no place where I've not been.

I stole hearts, which others owned
make friends and lost them in pair,
all days I'm so afraid no more coming home
because I'm longing so much to you

Let me tell you that I love you
That I think about you all the time
Fryslân you're calling me, I want to go home
and if I become a stranger
you know it makes me more than sad
Fryslân oh Fryslân I long to you

O Fryske earth who gave us bread
the green meadows smell from a long way away
your wild storms, your broad seas
That's my memory since times ago

Old songs told me from your earth
and how it was before my life began
it astonished me like the child I was
and that I am today nomore.

Let me tell you that I love you
that I think about you all the time
Fryslân you're callin me, I want to go home
and if I would become a stranger
you know it makes me more than sad
Fryslân o Fryslân I long to you.

John Wright is from England, he was born on 22. June 1947 in Bournemouth and raised in Manchester.
With his band he played a lot of traditional folksongs and this song he sang 1993 on a tour through the Netherlands
in Noardewyn (Fryslân). John Wright died suddenly at 7. February 2008, A great loss. He was a great artist.

I was born in Bournemouth too Booi! It is sad especially as we need more musicians to spread our causes.

Lovely stuff. If he was raised in Manchester, that's where he must have gained all of his talents ;)
