Anyway this is my view on the oppression of the English:
Do you agree with me sentiments? And anything you would change?
Cheers

Might be worth doing some digging and sending another letter.
I was lazy only sent one letter.
I sent this e-mail in 2007;

Dear sir/madam
I hope you could help me. I have been reading up on English history, and
in particular the battle of Hastings in 1066AD where
the Norman ruler William the conquerer with the then popes blessing
invaded England killing the English King Harold Godwinson, who famousely
got an arrow in the eye.
It is said that upon his victory William in
gratitude to the pope sent him Harolds banner or standard.
My querey on an historical note is, is there any record of this
standard/banner?
At this time the flag of England may have been a dragon possibly a two
legged dragon in gold or white as on the Beyaux tapistery could it have
been this? Harolds personnel banner was 'the fighting man' could it have
been this?
I know it is a long time ago but would there be any records recording this
transaction or even some dusty old flag lying around in a vatican vault.
This would be a most amazing piece of historical/cultural information that
i and numerouse other English like minded people would love to hear of.
The Anglo Saxons formed the English people to know what their
banner/standard looked like would give the English a new thirst for
learning of where we came from and who we were.
My very sincere thanks for your time

I then got the following reply;

Sir Winston Churchill
"Never Give In"
"This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."
"If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it the third time — a tremendous whack."
"Dictators ride to and fro upon tigers which they dare not dismount. And the tigers are getting hungry."
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."

First thing is to find out if they do have it or at least a record of it.
That would be enough to cause a surge in interest in our last English king and the true flag of England.
If they only have a record it may give a description which confirms the Bayeux tapestry version.
After confirmation of them having it we can look at getting back what is rightfully an English item stolen by a userper.

There may even be documents of the discussions between the then pope and William the Conquerer prior to his invasion which could shed light on the reasons why the then pope gave William approval to invade England.
