Are people really still that resentful over the world wars? People who hate Germans are oblivious to the fact that both the British and the German people were brainwashed into trying to wipe each other out. If they actually ever spoke to a German they'd realise they are exactly the same as us, just more efficient and with less sense of humour lol.

Shows how uneducated she is. I'd prefer to share a beer with an ethnic German than a civic Englishman any day. She obviously doesn't know what the word Germanic means.

A prat no doubt, but why do those on the comments section have to then make thinly veiled comments about such attitudes being typical of Little Englanders, etc. And then they have to throw in a few German phrases to prove their non Little Englander credentials - the same sort who'd no doubt see us in the same vein as this woman. I just find it hypocritical that those criticising this woman on the Daily Mail comments section feel that to disagree with her therefore has to take the form of self embarrassment and self deprecation, which in my eyes is as bad, or worse than taking someone to task for speaking German. I don't agree with what the woman did, but neither do I have time for some of those paragons of virtue on the comments section. You just know they'd look on us with the same amount of distain for even considering ourselves as ethnically English, though of course that sort of sneering, disapproving attitude is okay as long as it's aimed at the English.

Fucking stupid, I've served in Germany, had no problem with em, just the same but with a different language, or a language difference, but normal people going about their normal lives as we do, i saw no evil in them, and saw no hate in them for me or my mates..

Of course i didn't know then what i know now, about us all being Germanic, but even then i felt akin to them, and had no problems talking to them, especially to the Females, if they helped me with words and terms, other wise i got on well with them..

The Two Wars are over, we shouldn't have fought either, and we shouldn't have fought our Germanic Kin, it was wrong, and a fucking all mighty mistake.. We should have joined em and no one would have been able to stop us, even Rommel knew that..

That silly Bitch of a Land Lady should be kicked out, and not given a Pub again, plus she should be re-educated about our Family ties with our Germanic brethren on the Continent...
