UKIP oppose EU flag waving
AN Oldham Euro MP has heaped criticism on plans to give the blue and gold European Union flag the same status as the Union Jack.
Dr John Whittaker, the UK Independence Party?s North-West Euro MP, said the change shows further evidence of Britain being pushed towards an EU super-state.
The change in the law comes after UKIP revealed that flying the EU flag is illegal, unless given planning permission, because all non-national flags are regarded as advertising material.
An EU flag outside Westminster had to be taken down as a result.
New laws will mean the flag with 12 gold stars on a distinctive blue background can be flown without requiring planning permission, elevating it to the status of the national flag.
Dr Whittaker added: ?The Government is eager to reassure us that we are not heading towards a country called Europe and yet they will push through this law.
?The European Union is not a nation and so why should its flag be on a par with the Union Jack??

Their "agenda" has long been planned, that is to wipe England off the map, and they have done it! .mfinger
Everything Bliar and Labour do is about converting us to EU rule, the new Police reforms?, each "region" will have its own force, army 'modernisation'?, each 'region' will have its battalion of the coming EU army, now Labour are f*cking around with the councils and England's ancient shires, all fitting in with this regionalisation 'agenda', if we dont get out of the EU this country is finished!, there are NO benefits of membership, regardless of what Bliar and labour will say, you dont have to be a member of the EU to trade with the EU, sure we would lose a few billion in trade tarifs when we pull out of the EU, but we will gain about ?25BILLION by not paying money to the EU every year! .mfinger

I am also against the EU, prob. for different reasons to some but I believe England (and Britain) should be self sustaining, rather than relying on the rule of the EU.
I often wonder how this fair island of ours would cope now in war as most of the manufacturing has moved abroad and our countryside destroyed of its vast farmlands to feed the masses?
I do not want to be part of a United States of Europe because, no matter how much spin is put on it, it will never work!

Another flag victory for the People's No Campaign
As we force another flag to be removed from a public building the Government begins a desperate attempt to appease our European masters.
We will be raising the temperature on this one especially as the EU flag in many instances will be flown ahead of the Cross of St. George. Please support The People's No Campaign as we drive this initiative forward. The more funds we have the greater the pressure we will be able to bring to bear on errant local authorities.

Last month I reported how Wear Valley council had been forced to haul down an EU flag outside its offices. Legally this ranks as an "outdoor advertisement" and to fly it without planning permission is therefore illegal. Noting a "ring of stars" flag outside the headquarters of Cheshire police, a reader, Barry Jones, wrote to the chief constable asking whether he had permission. When his letter was ignored, he wrote again, mentioning that his letter would be sent to this column.
The police have now told him that the flag has been removed. Meanwhile the Government has announced that it is to rush through an amendment to the law. As from next year, the EU flag will be given the same status as the UK's own national flags. Our councils, police and anyone else will be free to fly it whenever they wish.

?Blair out to destroy UK?
By George Jones
LONDON: Lord Tebbit accused Tony Blair last night of seeking the destruction of the United Kingdom and its absorption within a foreign jurisdiction.
The veteran Conservative peer claimed that the Prime Minister and his Government ?detested? Britain?s history, constitution and institutions. Lord Tebbit, delivering the Ian Gow Memorial Lecture at the Palace of Westminster, said that initially he believed Mr Blair?s ambitions were confined to the creation of a European identity to replace that of Britishness.
?That would explain the destruction of every British standard, from the foot and the pound to our standards of justice, to make the imposition of Euro standards the easier,? he said. But Mr Blair?s Labour conference speech last year had revealed a far wider ambition: ?It goes well beyond the extirpation of terrorists and the punishment of those giving them shelter.
?The more vainglorious passages spoke of alliances to solve the wider world?s problems, wars in the Congo, global poverty and famine and, of course, the installation of a Government in Afghanistan acceptable to world opinion - that is, acceptable to the international jurists favoured by Mr Blair.?
Lord Tebbit added: ?The outrages in Yugoslavia and those of September 11 in New York have confirmed in the mind of Mr Blair the need not merely to submerge the UK into a Euro-state but to create a wider world authority. Whether his allies in Washington and Brussels fully share his ambition is another matter.
?Blair?s constitutional reforms ? his social reforms undermining the family, his criminal and civil law reforms overturning 1,000 years of British jurisprudence ? his attempted obliteration of the culture and history of this Kingdom, the betrayal of those who would be British whether in Ulster or Gibraltar, his contemptuous disregard of our kith and kin in Zimbabwe, his resolution to cede our very currency to foreign interests are all part of one agenda - the destruction of this Kingdom and its absorption within a foreign jurisdiction, over the heads or behind the backs of its people and contrary to the oaths he swore on taking office.
?Never before have we had in office a Government and most particularly a Prime Minister who detests our history, our constitution, our institutions and indeed the very nation we are and whose intention is to subjugate us to foreign rule.?
